vandE mAtaram…

Two simple, unorthodox words that stood for all the things that we fought for.  Two words that galvanised our freedom struggle. Two words that united India. At-least until last month…. Now the same two words have been so dissected by us that it will be remembered, by this generation, as a ‘controversy’. Such is the pathetic state of politics in our country that they are waging war over their ‘mother’.
I still remember when we had but one channel, every single day DD started by playing this song.. ‘vandE mAtAram.. sujalAm suphalAm..’. It’s got such a high esteem in the daily life of our country that we paid homage to that song EVERY SINGLE DAY !!! Not Sri vEnkAteswara suprabhAtAm.. it was this song that started our day !! No wonder that our first flag had these two words sprawled right across it!!

And look at the state at which we are now…fighting cribbing over if it is ‘religiously legal’ to say the two words. I read somewhere that God created mother since S/He felt that He might not be able to do justice to every single creature born.. you call your country ‘mother’land since it is where you are born. We are the children of the country called Bharat’mAtA’. VandE mAtAram is just saluting your mother. Saluting unabashedly, saluting with undying faith, love and affection to your own Mother. I don’t understand why saluting your Mother who is in fact God personified should be a problem to people.
As long as we are in this state where we cant even salute our mother without politics interfering.. we shall be this way.. O India! The more you try to imbibe some good thoughts into the minds of your children the more ignorant they are trying to become! Forgive them, for they dont know whom they are antogonizing. mErA bhArAt mahAn. vandE mAtaram…

phones on planes

ప్రచురించిన వర్గము AmATa-ImATa — crazydiode @ 1:48 పూర్వాహ్నం

It does seem a weird topic but the experience we had the other day on a plane led me to think and thank the person who thought of No phones on planes. God bless him.

The reason i say this is coz, last saturday day we had a very bad experience. The person sitting beside us was so oblivious of the surroundings that she was ‘yaada yaada yaada yaada ing’ nonstop until the stewardess called to switch of all electronic goods for the third time. My guess is that she musta seen this person yaada yaada-ing. 8-|

That spawned a thought in me that who ever thought of having the same frequency as cell fones musta been a genuis.. Then i realised that even if the fones were to be allowed at that altitude there wont be any reception for ppl to yaada yaada yaaada…

There was this other guy on the plane who had such a hard time keeping his mouth shut. I dont know which was bad.. this girl talking on the fone in an alien language or this person talking in a language i know… so much for travelling on planes.
